Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound chicken breast, diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add diced chicken, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano. Cook until browned.
  3. Pour in marinara sauce and water, stir to combine.
  4. Add uncooked pasta, stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer. Cover and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove lid, sprinkle with mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.
  7. Cover again for 2 minutes to melt cheese.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
